Knowda is a Web3-based trivia platform built on Cardano where players participate in a quiz game and emerging winners are rewarded with Cardano’s Ada token.
During the 2-month Gimbalabs African Developers Education Initiative training, weekly quizzes were hosted on the community Discord server. The moderator would post multiple-choice questions in the chat, and the first participant to answer correctly earned points.
However, this quiz format proved inefficient as some participants began to exploit it, leading to several complaints. As a result, the quizzes were later moved to the Slido platform, which provided a fairer and more organized experience for everyone.
Despite this improvement, one key issue remained — quiz winners had to manually send their Cardano wallet addresses to the moderator and wait for their rewards to be sent. Occasionally, moderators forgot or delayed payments, creating unnecessary friction in the reward process.
Knowda addresses this challenge by leveraging smart contracts to automate quiz reward distribution.
